June 28, 2017Colquitt County Schools Participate in the System's Third Annual District Data Retreat

School leaders and members of their leadership teams from all schools participated in the system's third annual District Data Retreat on June 21-22, 2017. 

The goal of the annual retreat is for schools to review achievement, attendance, stakeholder feedback, and discipline data, identify areas for improvement, complete root cause analyses surrounding identified issues, and create action plans to meet the needs of all students.

2017 CCHS Canning Plant Schedule


The canning plant, located across from Wal-mart at 710 Lane Street, will open on May 22, 2017 with operating hours from 8:00 AM to 12:00 noon. The plant will operate these hours on the following dates:  May 22, 24, 29 and 31. 


Full time operation will begin on June 5, Monday through Friday, with the operating hours of 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. This schedule will run for the following dates:
June 5 – July 12 (Except for Tuesday, July 4th)


The canning plant will also open the following Saturdays from 8:00 AM through 12:00 noon: June 24  and   July 1 & 8

The calendar will not change for this school year. Missed days because of storms and illnesses will not be made up. The last day of school will remain May 24th, post-planning May 25th and 26th, and graduation Saturday, May 27th.


HB91 - Graduation Petition Process for CCHS Students - Governor Nathan Deal signed House Bill 91 into law on March 30, 2015 thereby creating new code section, O.C.G.A. §20-2-281.1.  This law provided that students shall no longer be required to earn a passing score on any graduation tests to earn a high school diploma.


School Choice
Under the 2009 state law (O.C.G.A. 20-2-2131), parents/guardians may request a transfer to another school within the Colquitt County School District.

Colquitt County School System is committed to providing all students with a safe and civil school environment in which all members of the school community are treated with dignity and respect. In accordance with federal, state, and local policies, procedures and practices, Colquitt County School System expressly prohibits the bullying, harassment or intimidation of any person, by any means or method, which occurs on school property, on school vehicles, at designated school bus stops, or at school related functions or activities, or by use of data or software that is accessed through a computer, computer system, computer network, or other electronic technology of a local school system. Students who witness bullying or who are victims of bullying behaviors should make a report to a teacher or school administrator so that an appropriate investigation can take place. If, after an investigation, a student is found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct bullying policy, the student shall be disciplined by appropriate measures up to, and including, suspension and expulsion. Retaliation following a report of bullying is strictly prohibited and may result in strong disciplinary action.
